How Commerce Engine helps you get found, convert and bring customers back, for the teams who grow revenue and the developers who build it.
01How does Commerce Engine help with SEO?
Commerce Engine’s SEO package generates page titles, descriptions, canonical URLs and Open Graph tags, plus Product and ProductGroup JSON-LD with prices, availability, variants and reviews. It also builds robots.txt, sharded sitemaps, llms.txt and Markdown versions of your pages, and keeps preview builds out of search. It works with Next.js, Astro, SvelteKit, TanStack Start and React. How a result looks is still up to each search engine.
Read the SEO guide02Can AI assistants shop our store?
Yes. Commerce Engine’s WebMCP tools let a browser AI assistant search your catalog, open products and variants, and add, change or remove items in a real cart. Agents can never place an order or enter payment details: the shopper always completes checkout.
Read about agent commerce03What kinds of offers can we run?
Eight coupon types: discounts (a percentage or a fixed amount), tiered discounts, free goods, fixed price, free shipping, buy X get Y, volume-based and bonus loyalty points, plus five automatic promotions that apply without a code. Each can target everyone, chosen customers, a segment or a customer group, be limited to first orders, and carry total and per-customer limits with start and end dates.
See coupons & promotions04Can we target offers to specific customers?
Yes. Build segments from profile data, your own fields and storefront events, or use customer groups, and make a coupon or promotion eligible only for them. A first-order rule keeps welcome offers for new customers.
See customers & loyalty05Can we win back abandoned carts?
Yes. Cart webhooks tell your tools the moment a cart is created or filled. If no order follows, the abandoned carts API returns that customer’s carts with their email and phone number, the items and prices, any coupon or promotion applied and when the cart expires. Your WhatsApp, SMS or email provider sends the reminder.
Read the abandoned carts API06Can we run campaigns on what shoppers do?
Yes. A campaign can start from a real commerce event: a confirmed order, a shipment, a cart left behind or a product view. Commerce Engine hands over the moment and the data through webhooks, the Admin API and storefront events, and the email, SMS, WhatsApp or marketing platform you connect runs the journey and sends each message.
Read the webhooks guide07Does Commerce Engine send the messages?
Messages are sent by the email, SMS, WhatsApp or push provider you connect. Commerce Engine gives it the moments and the data: webhooks for carts, orders, shipments, customers and loyalty, abandoned carts through the Admin API, and storefront events mapped for Segment or RudderStack. Each customer’s channel preferences are on their record, so your tools can respect them.
08How do we measure what is working?
Every paying customer is tied to the source, campaign, medium and term that first brought them, and every session keeps its first and latest UTM. Funnels follow the whole store and each product from cart to address, order placed and order completed, and metrics cover conversion rate, revenue, item sales and customer lifetime value.
Explore analytics09Does it work with Segment, RudderStack or our own tools?
Yes. Commerce Engine’s analytics package maps storefront actions to standard events in a Segment- and RudderStack-compatible format, ready for your app to forward, and Hosted Checkout forwards its own events. More than 100 webhook events, signed and replayable, cover customers, carts, wishlists, orders, payments, loyalty and offers.
