# Marketing & Campaigns

Commerce Engine helps you get found and win the order: rank with rich product results, let AI assistants shop your catalog, convert with targeted offers and event-triggered campaigns, then measure every step with first-party analytics.

## Ecommerce SEO and AI discovery

Commerce Engine's SEO package turns your catalog into structured data, crawler files and Markdown pages, so search engines and AI assistants understand every product.

- **Price and stock for rich results**: Product JSON-LD carries price, sale price and availability from your catalog, so search engines can show them in the result before a shopper clicks.
- **Ratings from real reviews**: Customer reviews and ratings are included in the product markup, ready for rich results.
- **Every variant, one product**: ProductGroup markup lists each variant with what makes it different, like pack size or colour, instead of near-duplicate pages.
- **A clear path through your store**: Breadcrumb, canonical and sitemap output tell crawlers where every product lives and which URL to rank.
- **Answers AI assistants can trust**: llms.txt and Markdown versions of each page give AI assistants clean product facts. With Commerce Engine's WebMCP tools, a browser assistant can search your catalog and fill a real cart, and the shopper always completes checkout.
- **4 frameworks**: Next.js, Astro, SvelteKit and TanStack Start.

## Coupons and promotions

Eight coupon types and five automatic promotions, aimed at first orders, segments or customer groups, with the limits and schedules you set.

- **First-order offers**: Limit an offer to first-time customers and cap redemptions per customer, so a welcome stays a welcome.
- **Targeted coupons**: Make a coupon eligible for a segment, a customer group or chosen customers, and schedule when it starts and ends.
- **Free-shipping thresholds**: Run a free-shipping promotion with a minimum order, and let the cart show how much is left to unlock it.
- **Bundles and pairings**: Offer buy X get Y and product bundles, and show similar, up-sell and cross-sell products beside the cart.
- **Limits**: Per customer and per code, with start and end dates.

## Event-triggered campaigns

Every cart, view, order and shipment is a moment to reach out. Commerce Engine hands each one to the email, SMS or WhatsApp tools you use, with the data and opt-ins to act on.

- **Abandoned cart recovery**: A cart webhook marks the moment a cart fills up. If no order follows, your tool looks up that customer's abandoned cart, with contact details, items, prices and any coupon, and sends the reminder.
- **Browse follow-ups**: Storefront actions such as Product Viewed and Product Added are mapped to Segment- and RudderStack-compatible events, ready to forward to the platform that follows up.
- **Order confirmations**: When an order is confirmed, the webhook carries what your email tool needs for the confirmation: the items, the total and the delivery address.
- **Shipping updates**: When a parcel leaves, its webhook carries the courier and the tracking link for your SMS or WhatsApp update, one for each parcel when an order ships in parts.
- **100+ webhooks**: Signed and replayable, for carts, orders and shipments.
- **Opt-ins**: Customers choose which messages they get on email, SMS and WhatsApp, and your tools read those choices from the customer record.

## Marketing analytics

First-party analytics tie every buyer to the source and campaign that first brought them, and follow each product from cart to completed order, so you see where buyers drop off.

- **First touch**: Source, campaign, medium and term for every buyer.
- **Two funnels**: Store-wide and per product, from added to cart, through address added and order placed, to order completed.
- **Sessions**: Each with its first and latest UTM.
- **Lifetime value**: With conversion rate and revenue.

## FAQ

### How does Commerce Engine help with SEO?

Commerce Engine's SEO package generates page titles, descriptions, canonical URLs and Open Graph tags, plus Product and ProductGroup JSON-LD with prices, availability, variants and reviews. It also builds robots.txt, sharded sitemaps, llms.txt and Markdown versions of your pages, and keeps preview builds out of search. It works with Next.js, Astro, SvelteKit, TanStack Start and React. How a result looks is still up to each search engine.

### Can AI assistants shop our store?

Yes. Commerce Engine's WebMCP tools let a browser AI assistant search your catalog, open products and variants, and add, change or remove items in a real cart. Agents can never place an order or enter payment details: the shopper always completes checkout.

### What kinds of offers can we run?

Eight coupon types: discounts (a percentage or a fixed amount), tiered discounts, free goods, fixed price, free shipping, buy X get Y, volume-based and bonus loyalty points, plus five automatic promotions that apply without a code. Each can target everyone, chosen customers, a segment or a customer group, be limited to first orders, and carry total and per-customer limits with start and end dates.

### Can we target offers to specific customers?

Yes. Build segments from profile data, your own fields and storefront events, or use customer groups, and make a coupon or promotion eligible only for them. A first-order rule keeps welcome offers for new customers.

### Can we win back abandoned carts?

Yes. Cart webhooks tell your tools the moment a cart is created or filled. If no order follows, the abandoned carts API returns that customer's carts with their email and phone number, the items and prices, any coupon or promotion applied and when the cart expires. Your WhatsApp, SMS or email provider sends the reminder.

### Can we run campaigns on what shoppers do?

Yes. A campaign can start from a real commerce event: a confirmed order, a shipment, a cart left behind or a product view. Commerce Engine hands over the moment and the data through webhooks, the Admin API and storefront events, and the email, SMS, WhatsApp or marketing platform you connect runs the journey and sends each message.

### Does Commerce Engine send the messages?

Messages are sent by the email, SMS, WhatsApp or push provider you connect. Commerce Engine gives it the moments and the data: webhooks for carts, orders, shipments, customers and loyalty, abandoned carts through the Admin API, and storefront events mapped for Segment or RudderStack. Each customer's channel preferences are on their record, so your tools can respect them.

### How do we measure what is working?

Every paying customer is tied to the source, campaign, medium and term that first brought them, and every session keeps its first and latest UTM. Funnels follow the whole store and each product from cart to address, order placed and order completed, and metrics cover conversion rate, revenue, item sales and customer lifetime value.

### Does it work with Segment, RudderStack or our own tools?

Yes. Commerce Engine's analytics package maps storefront actions to standard events in a Segment- and RudderStack-compatible format, ready for your app to forward, and Hosted Checkout forwards its own events. More than 100 webhook events, signed and replayable, cover customers, carts, wishlists, orders, payments, loyalty and offers.
